This Weeks Tech Events: Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Kia’s Electric Future, and Amazon’s AI Push (TWT Special)

This week was jam-packed with exciting announcements from the world of tech! From new Pokémon adventures and innovative electric vehicles to AI-powered assistants and cutting-edge indie games, there’s something for everyone in this roundup. Let’s dive in!

Pokémon Presents 2025

Pokémon fans had a lot to celebrate this week with a jam-packed Pokémon Presents presentation delivering exciting news and updates. A new action RPG, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, is coming in late 2025, featuring a unique storyline set in Lumiose City and a dynamic battle system with Mega Evolution. Competitive battling enthusiasts can look forward to Pokémon Champions, a new game for Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android designed to bring core game-style battles to a global audience. Updates were also announced for the Pokémon Trading Card Game, with Ranked Matches coming to the Pokémon TCG Pocket app and the Mega Evolution series of expansions hitting shelves in 2025. Beyond the games, new episodes of Pokémon Concierge, events for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, and updates for Pokémon GO, Pokémon UNITE, Pokémon Café ReMix, and Pokémon Masters EX were also revealed.

Kia EV Day 2025

Kia also had a busy week, with its EV Day event showcasing several new developments in their electric vehicle lineup. Kia announced the EV4, a sleek new electric sedan and hatchback, set to launch in 2025 with an impressive 630 km range in its long-range version. The company also revealed its first dedicated Purpose-Built Vehicle (PBV), the Kia PV5, built on a dedicated platform and highlighting Kia’s focus on personalized mobility solutions. Looking ahead, Kia offered a glimpse of the Concept EV2, a B-segment SUV EV expected to launch in Europe and other regions in 2026.

Amazon Alexa+ Event

Amazon is stepping up its AI game with the announcement of Alexa Plus, a new AI-powered version of its popular smart assistant. This enhanced version promises a more conversational and intelligent experience, capable of handling a wider range of tasks. Alexa Plus is available for a monthly fee, but Amazon Prime members can enjoy it for free.

Framework Gen2 Event

Framework, the company known for its modular and repairable laptops, also had a busy week with the announcement of its second-generation Framework Laptop 13, a brand new Framework Laptop 12 2-in-1, and the first-ever Framework Desktop. The Framework Laptop 13 has been upgraded with AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series processors and now includes Wi-Fi 7, a redesigned keyboard structure, and a new cooling system. Pre-orders are available now, with shipments starting in April. The Framework Laptop 12 is a 12.2-inch 2-in-1 convertible with touch and stylus support, powered by 13th Gen Intel Core processors. Pre-orders will open in April, with shipments starting mid-year. The Framework Desktop is a small, 4.5L Mini-ITX PC powered by AMD’s Ryzen AI Max processors. Pre-orders are open now, with shipments starting in early Q3 2025.
