Apple’s product announcement on Tuesday was a big day for tech enthusiasts. The event featured the introduction of several new products and upgrades, including the Apple Watch Ultra and new iPhone models.
Apple Watch
The Apple Watch Ultra was a surprise addition to the lineup, boasting several new features and improvements. These include brighter screens, bigger batteries, and an upgraded SOC. Additionally, Siri received an upgrade and is now able to process on-device health queries using a transformer model.
iPhone
While the Apple Watch received some attention, the main focus of the event was the new iPhone models. Apple introduced the iPhone 16 with USB-C support, as well as the iPhone 16 Plus with a larger screen. Both models feature a peak brightness of 2000 nits and are powered by the new A16 Bionic chip. The front primary camera has also been upgraded to 48 MP, and an ultra-wide camera has been added.
Apple also introduced the Pro models of the iPhone, which have screens the same size as the standard models but are powered by the A17 Pro SOC chip. These models offer advanced features such as ray tracing and dedicated AV1 decoders. The Pro models also feature a 48MP camera with 24mm, 28mm, and 35mm lenses and include the action button from the Apple Watch Ultra.
All models will feature USB-C instead of lightning, but the standard models will only support USB 2.0 data transfer speeds, while the Pro models will support USB 3.0 speeds. The standard model will start at $799, while the iPhone 16 Plus will start at $899. The iPhone 16 Pro will start at $999 for the 128GB storage option, and the Pro Max will cost $1,199 for 256GB of storage. All models will be released on the same date as the new Apple Watch models announced at the event.
Overall, the product announcement was exciting news for Apple fans. The new Apple Watch Ultra and iPhone models offer advanced features and upgrades that will appeal to a wide range of users. All models are set to be released on the same date, making for an exciting day for tech enthusiasts
