A couple of weeks ago, Disney finally released their long awaited streaming service Disney+. It’s a must have for all Disney fans because of it’s extensive back catalog of their past content and also some original series. It’s also is relatively user friendly.
Disney+ has a really nice UI and is relatively user friendly. It is designed like most streaming services with a carousel based navigation, categories and, search. But two things that it has that most streaming services don’t is property (like Disney Channel, Star Wars and, the MCU) based collections and it also has a section specifically where you can find all the 4K HDR content. The most convenient part is on the home page right at the top is a menu that you can select which Disney brand (Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and, Nat Geo) and right under that is all the Original series in one place. During the first week you may of heard complaints about
Disney+ has a great back catalog compared to most other streaming services. Since its Disney’s own it has the majority of Disney’s historical library, This does include all of films including those of the Disney vault.
High School Musical: The Musical: The Series
High School Musical (HSM): The Musical: The Series (HSMTMTS) is actually way better than I thought it would be. In simple terms the show is about the school where the movies were produced putting on the stage version of HSM for the first time. The show is produced in a mocumentary style similar to The Office but the interviews are substantially less frequent. I like the show it develops the characters really well. Music is a really important part of the franchise and so fat the show holds up its versions of the songs from the movie are great and the original music is great. But most importantly it does a great job of displaying the modern high school student experience. It does a really good job of keeping the spirit of the High School Musical franchise.
The Imaingeering Story
The Imagineering Story (TIS) is a 6-part documentary series that covers the very interesting history and operation of Walt Disney Imagineering. Imagineering is the department of Disney that designs the Parks and a few other things (including the cruise line). The show does a good job of being interesting and making the pace if
The World According to Jeff Goldblum
The World According To Jeff Goldblum is a decent show. Jeff’s personally is the 6for this type of show. He does a good job of adding humour and personality which makes less interesting topics interesting.
Encore is a reality show about the cast of high school plays getting back together to preform again. It’s a really great concept and done really well.
The Mandolorian is a great show it does a great job of channeling Star Wars into a western style show. It’s just great that’s all I have to say.
One Day At Disney
One Day At Disney is a single episode documentary that focuses on the people behind Disney. It is actually really interesting. But the format isn’t great its a bunch of shorts separated by segments of an interview with Bob Iger. It’s a little boring but the shorts are nice but just good.
There are a couple of other originals that I’ve not had time to watch I’ve heard that most of them are good.
