Nintendo’s Latest Indie World Showcase Reveals Diverse Game Lineup for Switch and Switch 2

Nintendo’s August 2025 Indie World Showcase unveiled an impressive slate of nearly 20 indie games headed to both the Nintendo Switch and upcoming Switch 2 platforms. While relatively brief, the presentation delivered several compelling announcements spanning immediate releases, upcoming titles, and games extending into 2026.

Leading the announcements was Mina the Hollower, launching October 31 with a playable demo available now on the Nintendo eShop. The showcase also revealed Glaciered as a timed Switch 2 exclusive, placing players 65 million years in the future on an ice-covered Earth where they’ll harness avian and dinosaur abilities to survive against marine creatures.

Several titles are available for immediate download, including Is This Seat Taken?, a spatial puzzle game about managing seating arrangements in various locations, and UFO 50, a collection of dozens of compact, high-quality games. Standing out for its striking visual design, Herdling, from Far developer Okomotive, arrives August 21, tasking players with shepherding fluffy creatures up a mountain summit.

One of the showcase’s most intriguing reveals, Neverway, demonstrates genre-defying potential by blending life simulation with dark fantasy elements, following protagonist Fiona as she balances farm life with her role as an immortal herald. This unique combination has captured attention even from players typically less interested in either genre individually. Content Warning, launching for both Switch and Switch 2, will challenge players to create viral spooky content while surviving supernatural encounters.

The presentation demonstrated Nintendo’s ongoing support for indie developers across genres, from tactical RPGs like Demonschool (releasing September 3) to cozy experiences like Tiny Bookshop. Notable upcoming releases include the city-building game Go-Go-Town, launching as a timed Switch exclusive in Spring 2026, and Well Dweller, which has drawn interest for its mysterious premise ahead of its 2026 release.

Existing hit Little Kitty, Big City also received attention with the announcement of its Picture Perfect update, adding new areas to explore, additional customization options, and a photo mode for players to capture their feline adventures.
