This week Razer announced their first productivity oriented device, The Brazilian Superior Court was hit by ransomware attack, PS5 Reviews are in and, there’s lots of Apple news. Like always there’s the Other News section.

Razer Book announced and reviews are in

On Thursday, Razer announced their first productivity oriented laptop called the Razer Book.

A few YouTubers posted reviews of pre-production units and both the reviews I saw were very positive. They say that the build quality is good and that it performs well. The thing that they liked best was the battery and all the ports you’d need including a headphone jack. It releases this month but the base model (the specs I listed) is exclusive to razer.com.

Brazilian Superior Court hit by ransomware attack

On Thursday several media outlets reported that the Brazilian Superior Court was hit by ransomware attack. It took their system down for two days. BleepingComputer and ZDNet report that it was the attack was a rebranded Defray777 by ransomware gang RansomExx was behind the attack

Next-Gen Console Reviews Are In

This w eek the embargo dropped on reviews of both the Xbox Series consoles and the PS5. For the PS5 reviews were pretty good. Reviewers liked it’s design and they also really liked it’s controller the DualSense and they didn’t like how big it is and how loud the fans are. It averages a review score of 8*. Now for the Xbox Series consoles, reviewers say the they don’t like the design but that it runs quietly. Additionally they like Quick Resume and don’t like the lack of games coming to the consoles at launch.

Shareholder Lawsuit

This week a judge allowed shareholders to sue Apple over ‘credible’ claims of being misled. The suit is around comments CEO Tim Cook made in an earnings call last year about concealing falling demand for iPhones in China.

App Security “nutrition labels” coming December 8th

In a blog post on Thursday Apple announced to developers that the app “nutrition labels” announced this year at WWDC will have to be implemented by December 8th. Basically they’re meant to be an easy way to understand how apps use your information. You can read more about them in my article about WWDC.

In The Week Ahead – Apple Event

This coming week Apple is going to be holding their One More Thing event. They are expected to announce the first Apple Silicon computer (most likely a laptop). But reputible leakers say that we should expect AirPods over-the-ear headphones and possibly AirTags (Apple’s Tile competitor).

In other news, NASA makes unusual comments against satellite company, KSP 2 gets delayed, NASA gains contact with Voyager 2 and, Etherium 2.0 launches Dec 1.
