At IFA, Acer announced that they acquired a company called Pawbo. Pawbo is a remote monitoring device for pets; hub features allow for a multi-camera system. It also has a night vision accessory and a treat dispenser.
Acer also announced new additions to their computer lineup, such as the Acer Swift 7. This device has a 14-inch screen. Windows Hello is compatible out of the box with a fingerprint sensor. It is also only 10 mm thin. The strength of the screen was enhanced with Gorilla Glass, and the sound is enhanced with Dolby Atmos.
They also announced a new Acer Predator. In the new Predator, there is eye-tracking technology. In Assassin’s Creed, this feature allows for natural aiming and an “infinite screen” where the camera pans when you start gazing at the edge of the screen. The Acer Predator 21x gaming laptop will come with eye tracking and a curved screen.
At the conference, Acer announced a VR headset. It is called the Acer StarVR and it is now shipping. The headset will be shipping with IMAX.
