Apple Announces Updates to OSs at WWDC 2021

This week Apple is holding their annual developers’ conference WWDC, and the keynote (where they make most of the significant consumer announcements) was on Monday. They announced details about this year’s versions of each of their OSs and a few other things during the keynote. iOSFaceTime The thing that got the most attention during the iOS section of the keynote was FaceTime. IOS 15 FaceTime will start looking like a more conventional video communication platform because of features such as grid view and the ability to generate links to and schedule calls. NASA JPL’s Perseverance Mars Rover

On July 30, 2020, an Atlas V 541 launched a new Mars rover, named by Alexander Mather, a seventh grader, as Perseverance. The launch went off without a hitch (unless you count California earthquakes as hitches), and Perseverance in its aeroshell zoomed off towards our red neighbor to collect scientific data about possible life. Seven months later, Perseverance has begun its mission on Mars after a successful landing using a very new system. Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair Review

Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair is a super fun platforming game. It’s the sequel to the acclaimed Yooka Laylee. I had a great time playing the game. The graphics are great and the gameplay is pretty good. Gameplay In general, the game is great really fun to play. It makes me wish that I was able to play the original. This game is super difficult but that is balanced with level design to keep the difficulty from giving you that ‘I’ll never finish the level’ feeling. YouTube retooled Red, Sony is gong to be ending manufacturing of Vita game cards, the Xbox adaptive controller, PayPal acquires iZettle, Intel 10nm chip. Today Nintendo hosted a Direct focused on ARMS. The Grand Prix was announced as the single-player game mode. In Versus Mode you have: In the ARM Getter, you use in-game currency to win new ARMS. If you get ARMS that you already have, you level up. A new fighter, Helix, was introduced. Described as a “failed lab experiment”, he is a fighter that can stretch his whole body.
